Car Pillow

quick projects 01. 31. 2017.

If you travel by car as much as we do, you will appreciate this practical car pillow. It provides enough stability for the head, so that you won't wake up with a stiff neck. And it won't fall down on the floor thanks to the velcro stripes that hold the pillow around the safety belt! Give it a try!

Step 1You will need 40 cm yardage, some velcro, and filling material. Step 2Cut your fabric to the given size. Step 3 Mark the place of the velcro on both sides on one of you outer fabric pieces. Step 4 Sew on the velcro on one of the fabric pieces: two stripes vertically, two stripes horizontally as shown. Step 5Pin the two pieces rights sides together. Leave two (!!!) openings on each side. Sew together not forgetting to leave 2 openings.Step 6: Turn your pillow inside out.Step 7Iron. If using a Frixion Pen or other magic marker that disappeares when ironed, re-make your middle markings. Step 8 Find the middle of the fabric and mark a line 2.5 cm to each side, so that you have an area of 5 cm width in the middle as shown. Sew down the these two lines, thus dividing your pillow into 3 areas: in the middle you have a flat space where the safety belt will fit when you fold the pillow around it, and on both sides you have your pillow cases. Step 9Stuff, sew down the openings and have a nice trip!
